Dalton, who took refuge in Miho, New Japan, was later captured by his former gang, and instead of killing him, he was used in an experiment called Project AX, splicing his DNA to match that of a Dragni, which is impossible, turning him into a reptilian instead. Dalton, now an monster sent to do jobs, was brutally beaten by an enraged James Konta, forcing the lizard to have metallic body parts covering his still injured body. The parts also enchanted his strength, not wanting to ever remove them from his body again, despite recovering from his injuries.

Provoked Dragni,Getting Dismembered by James

During one encounter, Dalton was aiding Kaddak only to encounter James. Dalton remembered James as the boy who was apparently killed in New Japan, however, James did not recognize him at all. Dalton went on to reveal himself to James as the Lizard-Man. He briefly fought James only for Kaddak to jump in, fighting James his way. Because of Kaddak wanting to see revenge on James, he was able to overwhelm James in a shroud of shadows, and he had darken the room with his presence. This also blinded James for Kaddak was using one of his mind game tactics on James, forcing James to not see anything but shadowy figures running around. This gave Lizard-Man the opportunity to steal the black box from the warehouse he was in. While he was running off, he spotted Kaddak fighting James, but he could barley see where he was running into. Kaddak managed to provoke James in the process, and Lizard-Man jumped in and joined Kaddak, in hopes of capturing James for Karvner. But things too an ill turn for the two of them when James tapped into his stronger temporarily abilities, this ability was called Dragni Rush, whereas James, who cannot control this ability, started to lash out against the two of them. He managed to in Kaddak so hard that he flew into a wall and was knocked out on impact, as for Lizard-Man, who was now on a defense, had been brutally beaten by James and eventually didn't see James now using both his swords in the dark, but it was already too late for him, for James had cut him up, and eventually cut-off his arms and legs. Before James could deliver the killing blow, James had been stopped by NeoxRose, who located the warehouse and stopped James from ending Dalton, who looked dead already. Rose had to fight James in order for him to come back to his senses. eventually she beat him, and James realized what he had done, and Rose escorted him out.

Kaddak had contacted his allies to recover Dalton's corpse and clean up the scene before anyone else showed up.

Months later, Dalton reawakens in a chamber in Karvner's HQ. He sees that his lost body parts had been enchanted with steel/metal components in hold it in place, and the metals were reinforced to prevent them from being cut off. Dalton thought he would have been dead that day, and was enraged with James, wanting to ruin James' life for what he had done.

Provoked Dragni Theory

Despite James' rage inside the facility after the Karvner fight, it is unclear if it was indeed James who had dismantled Dalton in the dark. At the time and during the fight, J-Myare was being created, basically by accident for James waqs knocked briefly into a cloning device that somehow managed to get his DNA, the only reason James was suffering briefly as if he turned human for a short period of time, rendering him useless, with only his sword fighting skills to help him.
