He wears a darken cloak covering parts of his body and a hood to cover his face. Barius' eyes are red, however, the other parts of his eye seems light red. Barius' face cannot be seen, however, parts of his skin on his face and arms seem to have been affect by some sort of energy causing it to look decayish. The teacher feared Barius because he thought he was a murderer and or thief who kills. The students often make up stories of Barius up until Barius teaches Link the song. Barius doesn't make another appearance until the player manages to get at least 7 dark artifact pieces.

Fighting alongside The Sheikah and The other nations of Novos Orsa

Barius fought alongside his father, Abram, when Dark Age attempted to cover The Broken Lands, which was formerly a home for the poor, to create camps for their forces. During the fight, Bairus had taken a lot of hits, which resulted in parts of his body and face to look decayish. Thanks to the Twili refugees, Barius and the others used weapons against Dark Age, forcing them back on the other-side of the rift they came out from. Barius found out afterwards that his father had met his demise, along with a few of Barius' friends and allies. This had sadden Barius, days later, a mass memorial had taken place, burying the dead in a vast land in Kohlingen.

The death of Elas

Months later, Barius had an apprentice who was not of the Sheikah tribe. A human woman by the name of Elas, who ahd formerly lived in the Broken Lands before the war. Elas quickly became a love interest to Barius until one day she had taken up an illness. Barius, who sought out for a cure had the young Hikolah go with Elas to Kohlingen Monastery and to wait for him there, knowing that The Sage was able to aid Elas until he can find a cure.

Weeks later, Barius received notice of Elas' death. He managed to find the frighten Hikolah, who informed Barius of The Sage's connection with the Twili that was involved in the war, and Hikolah saw The sage perform something on Elas, resulting in her death. Barius tells Hikolah if the Sage saw him and Hikolah responded saying no.

Enraged, Barius attempted to go to The Monastery only to find it closed down, and the people had mentioned that The Sage had died. Feeling relieved, Barius went on to mourn the death of not only his father, but for Elas as well.

Hearing the Organ Playing

Barius watched over the hidden grave only to discover music coming from the Monastery. Now fearing that The Sage's conenction to Th Dark Twili, he had somehow been revived, however, he needed a key to re-enter the Monastery since it has been locked. He went around Novos Orsa to find a locksmith and any blueprint to the construction of the Monastery he could find, just so he can make a key to enter.

Barius was successful, however, he knew he couldn't go along, as he began to leave, he spotted Link venturing to go to the cemetery. As soon as Link spotted him, the boy decided to seek out Barius.

Teaching Link The Song of Remembrance

When Link follows The hooded Sheikah in Kohlingen Pathway, Link slips down a steep path trapping him there. The Sheikah then introduced himself and decided to help Link find an alternate route out. Link and Barius stumble upon a hidden cemetery, which is separate from Kohlingen Cemetery, however the two are connected. This is where Barius decides to question Link finally. So that Link will remember him if the two were to run into each other, he teaches Link the Song of Remembrance, after playing, this forcing Link into recalling his past situations in Hyrule, uttering the name of the land, Barius responses to Link saying that he has heard of the name of Hyrule before, however, he doesn't not recall if the person who told him stories is alive or not. Barius reveals the graveyard exit to Link, but stays behind, telling Link he has personal matters to take care of other than caring for the Hidden Cemetery.

Jeremy is Missing

Barius went back to his village to prepare himself, when asked of what he is doing, his fellow Sheikah thought Barius had went mad, seeking revenge on someone who is not walking the earth anymore. Disregarding this, Barius continued anyway. Just to make sure, Barius had dug up The Sage's grave and finds the corpse, after further examination, he discovered this was the corpse of another man, revealing the Sage, now dudded The Prophet is alive. After fixing up the grave, Barius discovers a boy walking towards the Monastery, and the boy touched the door and vanished right in front of it. Shocked at this, Barius went to inform the village had the boy had been abducted by The Sage. The villagers considered Barius a suspect and chased him out, making the villagers think the Sheikah, who seems to be haunting their land is the culprit. Centro went with Link to the cemetery, however, Link went to the Hidden Graveyard where he found Barius enraged.

Barius' Revenge

Later on, Link is forced to go find Barius after Jeremy has gone missing. Centro goes ahead of Link, but is unaware of the Hidden Graveyard or the Sheikah. Before heading to the Monastery, Link finds Barius nearby the alternate route to go to Kohlingen Cemetery. This time Barius reveals to Link that the boy had been granted access inside the Monastery, however, it is impossible to enter without a key. Surprisingly, Barius has created a replica of the key, and taking this opportunity to have Link and Centro aid him into destroying the "threat" that lured had taken the boy.

Barius quickly briefs Centro and Link on the situation and opens the door for the 3 of them to enter, only to be sealed in. The 3 were then ambushed by shadowy creatures, in which Barius quickly kills them off and runs ahead of Link and Centro.

Deep inside the Monastery, Barius faces off with an old enemy of the Sheikah who is still alive thanks to the boy's new dark energy that revive The Prophet's abilities. Barius had sought revenge on The Prophet and his minion ever since the Monastery had been closed down. (The player is able to help Barius if they wish to add him to Goom's Squad, however, if not, then Barius is nowhere to be found, same can be said for The Prophet.)

Trivia

• When Link begins to think of his many adventures in Hyrule, Barius responses to Link saying he had heard the land of Hyrule from someone before, revealing that some Hylains had been living in Novos Orsa if they had survived their journey in the Lost Woods.
• When Barius speaks, he seem to be a very sad solider, who worries a lot of his past.
• The Villager of Kohlingen think of Barius as a ghost, however when Jeremy goes missing, they suspected that he was behind the boy's disappearance, telling Centro and Link that the kidnapper was Barius.
• Because of his hideous figure, Barius cloaks himself.
• Barius refers to Shad as a Gomess, a Grim Reaper like entity that was an enemy to the Sheikahs in stories.
• Barius remains in 2 locations. Kohlingen and The Sheikah Village.
• Barius, Hikolah, Juliet are all in the same tribe; Romeo and Elas were taken in by the Sheikah Tribe despite not being the same race as them.
• Hikolah is a friend to Barius, he was the one who not only witnessed the death of Elas, but also the burial of The Sage (Prophet) days later.
• Barius was the only one to who thinks that the Sage was alive, even going as far as to disrupting a grave to find out.
• Barius mourns quietly on an unknown grave, the grave could have belonged to someone he knew dearly. His father could have been one of the heroes buried there.
• Barius did fight alongside his father in the past.
