Sane is the mysterious young man who Link first spoke with during and after the bandits attempted to breach Flora Town. Not much is known about him, however, he insist Link on aiding him on a quest he had planned.

Known Appearance

Not much is known of where Sane Originated from, thus, he was presumed orphaned as a child. The half naked boy literally lived in the woods and hunted down monsters and animals for food and picked fruit. The boy was found by Sarah, a Forest dweller native (Korikian Tribe), who had been saved by the boy and later taken in under her care. The naked child literally saved the girl from the monsters of the forest be slaying them with a stone, revealing the boy's use of objects for combat. The girl provided him with clothing because he was literally naked, and she cooked food properly for him. She even went out of her way to teach him. As Sane grew older, he took it upon himself to have the Korikian Tribe to train him, even surpassing everyone within the tribe. The boy named himself Sane, meaning that Sarah had cured him of his insanity of dwelling in the wilderness. He took his leave and didn't return back to the forest.

Joining Gandalf in his journey, Betrayal by father figure

For months, Sane learned about NADI and the dark artifact they seek. He also learned about the war. One day his interest made him join a man by the name of Gandalf, who took him in and trained him. He quickly was seen as a son-like figure to Gandalf and the two began to share their experiences in life. The two traveled together. Overtime, this journey had made Gandalf change little by little. Sane was unaware of Sarah stalking him throughout his journey, even ignoring Sarah's warnings through the letters. Finally Gandalf, Sane and the others found an old temple in Shiru (Which is now Dreadmire Swamp) and ventured inside. The temple had many, many traps inside and Sane took it upon himself to risk his life to disable the traps, putting his wittiness and puzzle solving to the test. Eventually the group made it inside to where a piece of the Dark Artifact was, and Gandalf rushed to grasp it, only to have the fragment corrupt him even more. Sane tried to speak some sense to Gandalf, however, it was no use, and the two engaged in a bloody battle. The fight accidentally trigger a trap causing the temple to collapse. The after math of the fight, Sane's eye had been slashed by Gandalf's dagger, which happened to have essences of the fragment on it. Sane's battered body laid on the group has he passed out, Gandalf's men grabbed Gandalf, but failed to save Sane. Sarah, who was stalking saved Sane's life and took him to a nearby town, Kohlingen Village.

Awakening from coma

Sane reawakens days later, not knowing of what has happened. Sane was shocked about how monstrous his eye had become, a custom eye covering was made for him. Sane had lost lost bits of his memory, however, he was again introduces to rumors of the artifact thanks to Sarah. So Sane took it upon himself to planned out his search. Sane had a change in appearance, he dyed his hair blonde, and wore coverings. Sarah informs Sane to have those help him and not go against him, she also added to be careful. An old friend of Sane decided to be his bodyguard and travels with him where ever he goes.

Finding a Piece of the Dark Artifact

Apparently, Sane stumble upon a man who attempted to kill him, however, Sane broken both the man's arms and his eye reveals to him the man knows something about the artifact. So Sane told the man to reveal it's location. Sane and his bodyguard breach the man's hideout, and found the artifact piece in a box with corpses around it, assuming people fought here just to get it. Sane took the piece, however, the man had his people posted up outside of the hideout, hoping to kill the boy. Sane gave the man a chance to surrender, however, he refused, forcing Sane and his bodyguard to single-handedly defeat them. However, Sane's bodyguard took it upon himself to kill the man, after this Sane told his bodyguard that killing isn't necessary, in addition, he doesn't want to become the same as those who are hunting the good.

Staying below the radar

Sane started wearing a black robe in order to hide himself from those who seek the artifact. He also took up the chance to make a blueprint of his own, discovering how many pieces are present, minus the one he has. Sane's journey took him to Flora Town, where his curiosity of Link unfolded after the defeat of the bandits who's plan had failed that night.

Recruiting Link

After he explains to Link about how powerful this Dark Artifact is, next to other Twili objects, Link had no choice but to find a way to destroy it, however, Sane insist that it can be reverse engineered. Sane joins Link and watches his plan unfold. Along the way, others were influenced by Sane and joined him on his quest. His quest began to mirror that of Gandalf.

Trivia

• Upon meeting Link, he sees that Link resembles him a lot. This resulted in Sane calling Link "Brother".
• Sane's origin is somewhat similar to Natalie.
• Sane and Sarah are the same age, when taken in, Sarah did most of the caring for Sane as she lived with her older guardian.
• Sane's original love interest was The Gerudo Princess, and Cynthia. There was a point where the player's actions judged Sane's mate, however, this has been canned.
• Sane is orphaned, and in his story was found in the forest. He long, black messy hair, revealing his real hair color to be black.
• Sane's original name in the old biography is Marcus, therefore, this may be his real name.
• Sane's bodyguard's name is La'Mech, who is a childhood friend of both Sarah and Sane.
• Sane is very secretive. At times his questions become lectures to those he speaks to.
• Sane carries 2 swords, among the swords resembles the Koriki Sword.
• Sane barley sleeps, this explains the dark rings under his eyes.
• Sane's cursed eye grants him the ability to see into the hearts of others when given the chance, for instance, knowing if someone is lying or not. However, he doesn't abuse such a power because he gets headaches from it.
• Sane's ears cannot be seen due to the huge about of hair he has, not revealing if he is human, Korikian, etc.
• Sane only slays his foes if they are a major risk. He doesn't see killing as an option, he tells his bodyguard this after he had killed a defeated man during an ambush. He formed his own honor code in the process.
• Sane is shy towards women he has first spoke with, has no problem with Sarah because she is a sister figure to him.
