Title: The Grim Reaper, Gomess of The Broken Lands

One of the main antagonist in the story. He is similar to Sane, however, he wishes to piece the Dark Artifact together to revive Macellrius from his current state. Because of him, NADI's influence had been increases slowly, but surely. Shad's alternate quest is to free Okari and form him once again to fight against his enemies, he does this by using his new apprentice, Riku, to do his bidding.

Shad's raise to power in NADI began after the war and a bit during Link's presence.

Abilities

  • He crafted a Scythe out of Twilit and human weaponry, which is later compatible with his dark powers.
  • In the loop: a last restore attack, that takes an opponent between the portals created by Shad, dropping the victim in remote location within the porter; being ambushed by dark monsters.
  • He has the ability to teleport short to mid range distances by forming a mini portal. Where he will appear next is obvious to his foes wheres he he reformed by shadows (similar to how Link in TP warps from point to point via Twilight Warps).
  • He has the ability to clone at-least up to 4 copies of himself, each having a life span of 6 hours, if Shad is to absorb one of his clones, the information retained by his clones is now in his memory.
  • Shad's ability originates from the Fragment of the Dark Artifact he carries, however, he overused such power, making some of his abilities still usable even without the fragment.

His weakness consist of Light Energy, and or backfired attacks of his. He is also weak against his own element, if for some odd reason he fights without a scythe; probably laced by Magus, who likes him, but doesn't trust him as much.

Shad, before forced into Dark Age

Shad also known as Shawn Reaper, was a villager, who had such an interest with the Twilit Race in Novos Orsa. Shawn used to live in a village that was very poor and food was scarce. He met a Twili Villager and the two of them began to discover treasures together. Shad's friend informs him that the rest of the Twilit race will be in Novos Orsa very soon, and the small band of Twili informs the Novos Orsa nation about this soon to be war.

During the war, Shad had been caught in the conflict, while trying to escape his village in the Broken Lands, only to be captured, along with his friend by a small band of Dark Age rebels who searched the area. The two were taken to Magnus and had been moved to a remote location in the Twilight Realm and were experimented on.

Weeks Later, Shawn's friend, had been quickly corrupted into the monstrously known as Okari, however, during the war, the beast could not be kileld, however, sapped into weapons soon placed in Light Temples afterwards. Magnus had special plans for Shawn and brainwashed him, thinking that a the young human will aid him in his quest to find the Dark Artifact.

Months later, after the war, A hooded figure warped into the old war fields of the Broken Lands, and created a Fortress, soon housing the Mirror of Twilight below the Fortress. Magnus had given him a piece of the Dark Artifact that his men had found and gave it to Shad, who was ab;e to clone himself and send them on there way, starting with the forest.

Shad's clones kidnapped a number of people and forced them into Dark Age and among them was able to bring a boy from the forest. Apparently, the weakened clone told Shad he attempted to brainwash the captives, however, among them the light and courage in him was too strong, eventually, pulling on the darker side of the child. At this, Shad made the boy his apprentice, and soon after changed climbed Dark Age ranks, changing the name of Dark Age to NADI.

Random Search beyond The Forest

At some point, Shad's clone, accompanied by Riku stumbled upon the Happy Mask Salesman and kidnapped him, finding Majora's Mask in the process. Shad was amazed by the mask and felt some connection to it, and brought it to Magnus, who took notice of the mask and informs Shad that this mask was used for hexxing rituals in the past, and it has had some history with the Twilight Realm. After hearing this, Shad tells Magnus if he could control the monster resting inside the mask, however, Magnus tells him that the mask will be with him instead, having a plan already in mind for it. As for the Salesman, he was tossed in a cell with the other kidnapped victims, along with Kaza, Gemmy's friend and a female warrior.

Recruiting/ Influencing

Shad, with NADI's influence brought many to join him, among them Dasum, who was able to retrieve a weapon found inside a Light Temple, freeing a piece of Okari that was sealed in the sword, because of this, Shad taught Dasum how to brainwash his victims into serving him. There were a number of others who were influenced by NADI recruiters, eventually, the group expanded. Shad promised those who found a piece of the Artifact will be granted power, making the search crazy for someone. After months went by, the more some searched for the Artifact, the crazier they become, wanting to sell it, others went dark, and others began to kill for it. This search had caught the attention of the Novos Orsa King, who attempted to do what Sane does now, however, went missing; Magnus hinted something about the King as well.

Riku's doppelganger, The Returners, and Goom's Squad and more

The more Shad and NADI expanded and search, the more groups that raise against him. After some of Shad's men had been killed, captured and or jailed, he needed a different stradgey. Magnus informs Sahd to have Riku find his copy and see if they could kidnapped him again. Riku does this by luring Link into traps, however, this backfired, and forced a whole village to try and kill Link, thinking he is the enemy. After Riku had failed, he tells NADI, Link is dead. At this, Shad and the others insist that they should wait, having the good guys form the artifact, then swoop in for the ambush, killing everyone in their way.

Link meeting Shad

At some point, Riku seeks to kill Link himself. He manages to find Link and fight him, only to have Shad intervene. Shad, amazed that Link, the one responsible for Riku's existence is a live and well. He begins to toy around with Link, but purposely gets defeated by him. Shad knew that Link is determined to find all the pieces, so he joked with him saying, that He himself will get all the pieces first. re planning his strategy, having Link do the dirty work for him and plans to kill him once his adventure is completed.

This information went to Magnus, and Magnus plans on disposing those under Shad's command, not wanting to give out the promise they made to their followers. Magnus had just finished working on Majora, and slowly healing Okari, the monster of war.

Trivia

  • Notable members under Shad's command (Mobi, Gaia, Fuse, Riku, Zolom, Okari, Majora, Sakon, Dasum, etc). In the older story concept, Macellrius' sister, Minda, was also a member herself, luring Link to his doom.
  • Shad is probably the first among Link's enemies to "wait" for his foe to do the dirty work for him, seeing as his followers are somewhat bent on their own agenda.
  • Riku, despite being Dark Link, is a littler brother figure to Shad, probably why he doesn't get serious with Link during a few encounters, in addition, he knew Link is able to do the work for him, not killing him instantly (If Link wasn't present, the search could last even longer).
  • Shad had orange hair, so he is probably a mixed race.
  • Shad had gain favor in Magnus' eyes after the lethal experiment that was executed upon him.
  • Shad's life span had slowed down after Magnus changed him, he retains no memory of his past, only the influence of Dark Age/ NADI.
  • Shad has the ability to create skeletal versions of himself.
  • Shad also has other enemies, who were of Dark Age before he was forced into the group, The Assassin.
  • Shad had been influenced by Magnus to free Macellrius, however, it is unknown if Magnus still wants Shad alive if NADI is successful.
  • Shad often questions Magnus on his hidden agenda, not getting any answer in return.
  • Shad's original concept was to be the one to kill Link, and had nothing to do with the Dark Artifact, let along the Twilight Realm. He was similar to Dark Link, but hell bent on killing Link and later Sane.
  • Shad's original story he killed most of Link's new alliance, for example specific members of Goom's Squad and The Returners. He also got Sane to turn against Link, forcing Link to kill Sane.
  • Shad's Game Over scene had been toned down a bit, for he has a thing for be-heading his victims. His personality had been changed heavily from his older story.
  • Among Shad's corrupted Influenced members was a man who single handed destroyed a fairy nation on an island, now dudded Graveland by TSA. If the game is completed, a DLC-like GMK will be created to add on to the story.
  • Shad was able to retrieve Majora's Mask, and the unused Fierce Deity's Mask from Link. Both in which given to Magnus for his twisted agenda.
  • Shad's campaign started a bit after the war, however, expanded over time. He was still moving up the ranks even though Link was already present in Novos Orsa, explaining to why Dark Link had been created from one of Shad's dying clones.
  • The clone fought by Gemmy, didn't die, however, made it back to Shad before it's death, and the essences created while trying to brainwash Link and the others created shadowy minions for Shad, creating a darker version of Link in the process before death. Also this is the reason Shad has memories of seeing Gemmy, and Link, due to the clone's memory, this goes for recruits such as Mobi and Sakon.
  • Shad's clones made it to Termina during the second recruitment process, inviting Sakon to the group and finding Majora's Mask. This also brought Skull Kid and Kafei into the fray to fight alongside Link and Sane.
  • Shad cannot control Okari, but with Magnus' help, he was able to tranquilize and contain the beast somewhere in the Twilight Realm, most likely inside Dark Moon Tower.
  • Soon into Link's Adventure, Shad had elected 4 guardians to watch over and maintain the force-field guarding the prototype Mirror of Twilight.
