The only Japanese member in Ayumi's SWAT group who has a heavy ninja/Shinobi background. He doesn't say much, but he does what he is told.

Zanato, also know has Hygano Slashyuda. Before he joined the force and when he was younger, Hygano was trained in the way of the Shinobi. At the time, people replied on police, guns, etc .for protection, however, Hygano and his tribe thought differently, for there will be a time for olden ways to be used in battle. Hygano was made after a sword his father had made for him, Zanato, and ever since he was nicked name this. Years down the road, Zanato moved out of his village, for his tribe wanted him to go into the real world, for they felt that he could make a difference, unlike the others who left the village. Zanato met with others from his tribe who adapted to the lifestyle of common Japanese people, completely lost their way of the Shinobi, and discovered that Japan was slowly being corrupt when political figures wanted to claim the land mass, which members of the Yakuza had retreated too, retiring from their ways of life. Despite sharing an apartment with a former Shinobi from his village, Zanato managed to find a job for SAT, Japanese version of SWAT. He managed to pass all tests with ease and his physical feats were enough for him to pass. Zanato was in the force for years; however, it was tough for him to speak for he only spoke Japanese, however, some words of English he could understand.

Appearance

Zanato is probably one for the oldest members in Squad 7, Ayumi Saito’s group. He has dark gray hair, however, some parts of his hair isn’t grayed out, revealing he had brown hair. Zanato has a fairly darkish skin tone, and scars all over his face and body. He wears all black, and has a black scarf-like covering on his face. Zanato has green eyes, however, his right eye is gray, as if he was blind, but he is not. He carries a sword, even though he is regulated to carry guns with him since he is part of SWAT.

Being crippled

Zanato’s career ends when during the raid on the St. Marc Estate. He was thrown into a metal wall, being injured badly and soon revealed to be crippled from such a critical blow. Despite being crippled, he still is with his team. Months down the road, he retires and goes back to his village, and eventually becomes a mentor, despite his permanent injury.

Trivia

• Zanato only speaks Japanese, so he is unable to understand very little from his American partners, however he knows what gestures they give.
• Zanato is also an excellent marksman, for his Shinobi training requires much of it.
• Zanato is based off of Raiden from Metal Gear Solid.
• Zanato doesn't always use gunfire, unless if there was a need for it. He usually hopes around in the dark and surprises his foes, knocking them out.
• It is unknown if Zanato had died during the Kyushu infiltration. He had been thrown very hard into a steel wall by Vitarius when Lance, Ayumi and the others had shown up.
• Zanato favors Swords, however, he doesn't initially kills his foes, he leaves them injured enough or in a near death state. He is probably familiar with Lingchi, for Zanato has some cloudy history with Chinese literature. He barley sues guns unless it it use to immobilize a target within a certain range.
• Zanato probably had special abilities, to fade slightly into his surroundings, probably why it was easy for him to sneak up on his foes and easily helped out in bring power back to the island in Kyushu.
• Zanato's Flash marbles act as Deku Nuts in the Zelda Series, however, they trigger when they hit something. This blinded only to whom it is tossed to.
